Description
A Vortex™ system is a hybrid water/inert gas system that combines the best of inert gas and water mist fire suppression systems. Nitrogen and water are simultaneously discharged from a single emitter, atomizing the water to less than 10 µm and forming a dense homogenous suspension of nitrogen and water. This suspension then suppresses fire utilizing two mechanisms simultaneously: cooling and flame extinguishment. A Vortex system uses 88% less water per nozzle per minute than high-pressure water mist systems. The result is a system that is environmentally friendly, safe for humans, achieves full fire suppression with minimal wetting, and does not require room integrity.
